If you have any other components installed, they may interfere with your connection. If you have a network card installed on your machine, you should not remove the components associated with it from this window. If you are in doubt, do not remove the component.

All three components are manufactured by Microsoft, so in the Select Network Client/Adapter/Protocol window, select Microsoft from the left hand side, and the component you require from the right hand side. Then click OK.

Once you have the necessary components listed, highlight TCP/IP and select Properties

From the tabs at the top, make sure that:

WINS Configuration is set to Disable WINS
Gateway has no installed gateway (there are no numbers present)

Bindings has a tick next to Client for Microsoft Networks only
Click OK
From the Networks Configuration screen select OK
The computer may build a driver information database, copy some files, or request your Windows 95 CD. When copying files you may see a message titled Version Conflict, saying that the file you are copying is older than the file already in your system, to which you should click Yes to keep the current version of the file.
